Stations, the following is

(INTRO)
As the population ages, many
adult children are grappling with an unprecedented social,
economic, and personal revolution as they transition
into the primary caregiver for their aging parents.
With family members now responsible for 80% of elderly
care in the U.S., nearly every generation is impacted.
Michael Kirk, producer, director
and writer of PBS's "Caring for Your Parents" says this
two-hour special draws much-needed attention to this
emotional and universal reality.
(KIRK)
CARING FOR OUR AGING PARENTS
IS A CRITICAL PROBLEM THAT WILL CONFRONT NEARLY ALL
OF US - SOME EXPERTS SAY AS MANY AS 80 MILLION AMERICANS.
IN THIS FILM, WE TAKE A DEEPLY PERSONAL LOOK AT THIS
ISSUE BY GOING INSIDE THE DAY-TO-DAY LIVES OF FIVE FAMILIES
STRUGGLING TO KEEP PARENTS AT HOME, CONFRONTING CAREGIVING'S
IMPACTS - MARRIAGES, FINANCES, AND THE HEALTH OF THE
CAREGIVERS THEMSELVES. WHAT WE SEE IS DEEPLY PERSONAL…HARD…BUT
ULTIMATELY REWARDING.
