According to the Centers
for Disease Control, the national childhood obesity
rate has tripled in the last 30 years. As part of their
commitment to happy hearts and healthy bodies, Primrose
Schools, the leader in educational child care, is stepping
up its fight against childhood obesity with its second
annual Family Dance-off, benefiting Children's Miracle
Network Hospitals.
Dr. Mary Zurn, vice president
of early childhood education, describes how families
can get involved.

MASSACHUSETTS RANKS NUMBER
THIRTY-THREE FOR CHILD OBESITY AT 13.3 PERCENT. AND
THE U.S. SPENDS AN ESTIMATED ONE IN EVERY TEN HEALTH
CARE DOLLARS ON OBESITY-RELATED PROBLEMS. THAT'S WHY
IT'S SO IMPORTANT FOR FAMILIES TO GET ACTIVE TOGETHER.
NOW, FAMILIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY CAN SUBMIT A 30-SECOND
DANCE VIDEO TO COMPETE FOR CASH PRIZES AND A DONATION
TO THEIR LOCAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. ONE OF LAST YEAR'S
FINALISTS WAS FROM BOSTON, SHOWING HOW DANCING IS A
FUN WAY TO GET MOVING.
