THE INTERNET REVOLUTION WILL BE TELEVISED

~ Science Channel premieres Download: The True Story of the Internet ~

February 2008

Silver Spring, MD - The Internet is now an essential part of American's lives. As a recent Pew Research Center survey reveals, 77 percent of the U.S. population is reported to have personal access to using the Internet. And most people would rather consult the internet for help with a variety of common problems than ask an expert or family member.

Science Channel's Download: The True Story of the Internet premieres on Monday, March 3 at 9:00 p.m. (ET). For the first time on television, the founders of eBay, Yahoo, Amazon, Netscape, Google, and others go on camera and tell the behind-the-scenes stories of how they went from being geeky, computer-obsessed nerds to 21st century visionaries who launched information sharing and e-commerce companies that overtook the world.

John Heilemann, contributing editor of New York magazine, author of Pride Before the Fall, and an early witness to the Silicon Valley Revolution, hosts this wild and revealing look at the pivotal moments, power plays, and backstage drama that shaped our current wired world.
