December 2011
Stations, the following is
a news announcement. Suggested lead in 3, 2, 1…
(INTRO)
Hunger among older Americans
has spiked nearly 80 percent since 2001. Today, nearly
nine million people 50 and older are at risk of hunger.
Ralph Pinto, senior director
at Chase Card Services, says new research indicates
a desire to help combat senior hunger in 2012.

THE GROWING PROBLEM OF OLDER
ADULT HUNGER IS ONE THAT IS SOLVEABLE. ACCORDING TO
OUR NEW RESEARCH, OLDER AMERICANS ARE READY AND WILLING
TO HELP. IN 2011, OVER ONE-THIRD OF SENIORS DONATED
MORE THAN 500 DOLLARS TO CHARITY. WE FOUND THAT SENIORS
ARE MORE LIKELY TO DONATE THEIR MONEY OR TIME TO CHARITY
THAN THE GENERAL POPULATION.

Now there is a way for seniors
to easily give back. Throughout 2011 and 2012, Chase
will donate $0.03 for each purchase made with the AARP
Visa Card and $1 for each new account opened - up to
$2 million per year - to Drive to End Hunger, a national
AARP Foundation initiative. Learn more at aarpcreditcard.com.
