2011) - 2011 was the year of musical superstars, continued
celebrity fascination, unfortunate human tragedy, and
new royalty. From rising stars and weddings to intense
trials and natural disasters, people searched Bing with
terms that mark the year's most important people, places
and moments in time.

Most Searched People - Bieber fever
turned out to be contagious, making Justin Bieber
the most searched person on Bing in 2011, moving
up from the #6 spot in 2010. After not even cracking
the top 50 in 2010, Jennifer Lopez had a triumphant
return to popularity in 2011 as the 5th most searched
person on the list. Katy Perry (from #26 to #7)and
Selena Gomez (from #50 to #11), both also seeing
significant gains.

Most Searched News - From the high
profile trial of Casey Anthony (#1), to news of
the deaths of Osama Bin Laden (#2) and Amy Winehouse
(#5), people were hungry for information on hard
news stories as well. Of the natural disasters in
the news, Hurricane Irene (#3) captured the most
attention, followed by the Japanese earthquake and
tsunami (#4) and the Joplin tornado (#6).

Most Searched Sports Figures - Girl
power! The boys got served by Maria Sharapova in
sports-related queries, beating out Tiger Woods
and Brett Favre! In other sports, Derek Jeter ruled
the diamond, Kobe Bryant outdueled Lebron James
on the hardwood and a retired Brett Favre won top
honors on the gridiron.

Most Searched Celebrity Events -
Not surprisingly when it came to celebrity events,
searches for the Royal Wedding came out on top with
other "events" of interest including the final Harry
Potter movie, Kim Kardashian's wedding, Beyonce's
baby bump and, and Twilight sweethearts, Kristen
Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Most Searched Consumer Electronics
- Xbox was the most searched consumer electronics
product of the year on Bing, followed by Kindle
and Playstation. Interestingly enough, one of the
most searched consumer electronics of the year doesn't
even exist yet! Speculations about the iPhone 5
came in as the fourth most searched consumer electronic.
