Impact on Global Climate Change

December 2007

Stations, the following is a news announcement. Suggested lead in 3, 2, 1…

(INTRO)

Forecast Earth, a weekly television program and broadband site dedicated to climate change announces the second annual Forecast Earth Hot List, recognizing individuals, groups or companies taking positive action this year to meet the long-term challenge of global climate change.

Host Dr. Heidi Cullen says the list recognizes the key players impacting climate change.

(CULLEN)

IN THE LAST YEAR, THE DISCUSSION OF GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE HAS GONE MAINSTREAM, IN PART THANKS TO THE PEOPLE ON THIS LIST. NOT SURPRISINGLY, FOR THE SECOND YEAR, WE HONOR AL GORE WINNER OF THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE AND GOVERNOR ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, WHO'S FOCUSING ON REDUCING GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS IN CALIFORNIA. WE ALSO INCLUDED THE SCIENTISTS ON THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL PANEL ON CLIMATE CHANGE, AND LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, NEW YORK TIMES COLUMNIST THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN FOR HIS COVER STORY ON MAKING AMERICA RED, WHITE AND GREEN.

(CLOSE)

Determined by a panel of environmentalists, academics, scientists and editors from The Weather Channel, the list is published annually. For more information, visit www.weather.com/forecastearth.
