Helping Floridians Save on Power Bills

February 2011

Stations, the following is a news announcement. Suggested lead in 3, 2, 1…

(INTRO)

Did you know there's an automatic way to save on your electric bill? By enrolling in Florida Power and Light Company's On Call program, you allow the utility to cycle off heavy energy-consuming equipment that you select, such as your pool pump or A/C, for short periods of time. In return, you receive a monthly credit on your bill even in months when the program isn't activated.

The company's Bryan Garner describes the program.

(GARNER)

NEARLY 800,000 CUSTOMERS ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN THE PROGRAM. YOU GET TO CHOOSE THE APPLIANCES AND TIME OPTIONS YOU WANT, AND YOU COULD SAVE AS MUCH AS 137 DOLLARS ANNUALLY ON YOUR ELECTRIC BILL.

The energy saved by the program has helped defer the need to build several new power plants. Find out if you qualify and begin saving money while helping the environment by visiting www.FPL.com/oncall.
