IS THERE SEX IN THE CITY AFTER ALL? CARRIE BRADSHAW MIGHT WANT TO TRADE IN HER MANOLO BLAHNIKS FOR COWBOY BOOTS!

An Overwhelming 80% of Women Wonder Where All the Good Men In Their City Have Gone

November 2007

New York, NY - A majority of women are unhappy with the current dating scene within their respective cities. Single women in the cities across the country like Sex In The City's Carrie Bradshaw are more attracted to country guys and are open to finding love in the country according to the findings in an E-PollŪ commissioned by the women's cable network WE tv. The poll surveyed single women ages 18 to 49 who live in America's top ten cities about their beliefs on dating and found the majority say it's difficult to meet a man and are ready for a lifestyle change in order to find Mr. Right.

Attuned to women's attitudes towards dating in major cities across the country, WE tv premieres a new series "Girl Meets Cowboy" on Sunday, October 14 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, which gives city women a chance to lasso the heart of a real cowboy. The poll indicates that 74% of the women believe it's difficult to meet a guy in the city.

Even more women, 81%, said they would be ready to make a lifestyle change in order to find true love. When asked who they think would be more exciting in bed, 77% chose a rugged cowboy over a man in a suit, and when asked about the ultimate commitment, marriage, 66% believe a hardworking cowboy would make a better husband than a wealthy city guy.

Other findings among all single city women not currently in a relationship:

  • 74% of single city women agree it's difficult to meet a guy in their city

  • 77% considered a cowboy to be more exciting in bed than a businessman

  • 66% felt a hardworking cowboy would make a better husband than a wealthy city guy

  • 52% would rather date celebrity country boy Matthew McConaughey rather than city slicker George Clooney

  • 65% were more attracted to a man wearing a t-shirt/jeans rather than a man wearing a business suit § 80% wonder where all of the good men in the city have gone

  • 63% thought a man who gets his hands dirty for a living is sexier than a man who works in an office

  • 57% would be more likely to settle down outside of the city

WE tv's relationship expert and licensed therapist, Dr. Jenn Berman is available to comment on the psychology of these findings and provide relationship information for women in the dating scene.
