Intense Indigenous Competition
October 2007
Stations, the following is
a news announcement. Suggested lead in 3, 2, 1…
(INTRO)
From an arduous foot race
in the Mexican mountains wearing only handmade sandals
to a vicious Martial Art where the soles of your feet
are your only weapons, three American and three British
athletes push their physical and mental limits in the
thrilling Discovery Channel series LAST ONE STANDING.
Competitor Brad Johnson, the
American Pro Lightweight Strongman, describes what it's
like to live and compete alongside indigenous tribesmen.
(JOHNSON)
FOR ME, IT'S JUST NOT HAVING
ENOUGH TO EAT WHEREVER WE WENT TO. IT WAS A LOT TO OVERCOME,
BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE JUST LOOK AT IT AS, WE WENT
IN THERE, WE HAD A FEW DAYS TO LEARN A SPORT, AND THEN
WE LEFT. NO, WE WERE THERE, ALL THE WAY THROUGH, BONDING,
COMMUNICATING, RELATING… I DEFINITELY LEARNED A LOT
ABOUT THE WORLD DURING THIS TRAVEL.
(CLOSE)
Upcoming episodes include
Sumi Kick Fighting in North East India on October 18
and Mongolian Wrestling on October 25. LAST ONE STANDING
airs on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m.
