When innovations generate
exciting new products, intellectual property licensing
is the system that brings them to market. This week,
one thousand-plus global intellectual property experts
will come to Chicago for the 2008 Licensing Executives
Society International Conference. They will discuss
ways to make sure the best pharmaceuticals, biomedical
devices, information technology, energy solutions, and
other products reach consumers. The conference will
also compare how patent systems around the world promote
or inhibit innovation.
Dr. Thomas A. Picone of Schering
Plough Corporation is president of the Licensing Executives
Society in the U.S. and Canada.
