NEW YEAR SURVEY FINDS CARRIE UNDERWOOD THE PERFORMER THAT RESPONDENTS MOST WANT TO SEE

~ From Celebrities to Technology, Bing New Year Survey Finds What's on the Minds of Consumers as They Ring in the New Year ~

(Redmond, WA) - With the New Year upon us, it's time to say goodbye to 2011 and focus on what lies ahead. A recent Bing survey shows that we all feel a little differently about the past 12 months. Sixty-five percent of 18 to 24 year olds feel great about 2011, while 76 percent of 45 to 54 year olds hope the New Year will bring some improvements.

As with most years, the number one New Year's resolution for 2012 is to lose weight. In fact, 35 percent of men and 47 percent of women want to see the numbers on the scale go down. Other Survey Results include:

  • While big city lights and exciting parties might to go hand-in-hand with New Year's Eve, 44 percent of respondents indicate that they would most like to spend the holiday at a beach, mountain, or somewhere away from the crowds.

  • Be prepared to see a lot more tablet computers in the New Year - 34 percent of respondents indicated it's the number one piece of technology they would like to buy in 2012, followed by a 3-D Television at 24 percent.   • When asked which celebrity they would like to spend New Year's Eve with, 35 percent of people said Sandra Bullock, while Katy Perry ranked second with 14 percent, and Prince Harry came in third at 12 percent. Forty-six percent of men say they will replicate George Clooney's classic style, while 33 percent of women will model theirs after Pippa Middleton.

  • According to survey results, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Hudson are the three leading ladies of Hollywood women would like to mirror their diet plans after. It's no surprise that Jennifer Hudson made the list, because Weight Watchers - Jennifer's current diet plan - took the crown for most searched diet plan of 2011.

  • Watching your favorite artist perform on New Year's Eve is a great way to ring in the New Year. Carrie Underwood is the performer that respondents most want to see at 20 percent. Others in the running include Adele and Tony Bennett, who tied for second at 16 percent.
