ONLINE EDUCATION HELPS ENSURE NO STUDENTS ARE LEFT
BEHIND
~ Students to Quickly
and Easily Enroll in an Accredited College to Obtain
Associates Degree ~
August 2011
New data finds that enrollment
in online education has risen by almost one million
students from a year earlier. With the the start of
the academic year, many students heading off to college
or planning to enroll at local community colleges. But
for the procrastinators out there who are just now thinking
about taking college classes, what alternatives do they
have?
Most four-year schools no
longer have slots available and even many community
colleges have certain classes that are booked or are
only offered at times or at locations that may be inconvenient
to those who are juggling other responsibilities. There
are alternatives for students wanting to enroll for
the fall.
Ivy Bridge was created by
Altius Education, Inc. in partnership with Tiffin University
in Ohio. Students across the country can enroll and
immediately be on path to an associates’ degree. Ivy
Bridge offers the basic “101” courses that nearly all
students are required to take as a pre-requisite to
their pursuit of a particular major. These core courses
are offered online by Ivy Bridge, a school which takes
academics very seriously and which is fully accredited.
Buttressing this strong academic
foundation is the school’s “success coaching” model,
under which each student is assigned a highly trained
individual as a coach and mentor. The success coach
works closely with the student to address any issues
which may be an impediment to their progress.
This coursework creates a
smooth pathway for a student who wants to move on from
his/her associates’ degree and transfer to a four-year
school for purposes of attaining a bachelor’s degree.
The school has articulation agreements in place with
nearly 100 colleges and universities across the country.
These agreements guarantee
that a student who receives his/her associates’ degree
from Ivy Bridge with a certain GPA, can transfer as
a junior to one of the partner schools, which are across
the country and include institutions such as George
Mason, Kansas State and Arizona State.
